
Today, because I think the economy and politics are fun, the Friday Fun Video is going to be about the basics of a proposed economic stimulus package. President Bush is expected to unveil his economic plan today, and most people agree that it will likely involve a tax rebate.
Why a tax rebate, you ask? Simply because the idea is to get people to spend more money and build "confidence." It's not about helping pay down debt or even about trying to forestall foreclosures from the subprime lending mess. Rather, it's about getting Americans to spend more -- something we don't need help doing. I guess that's what make the Bush economic plan so funny. In a gut-wrenching ironic way.
