Alphonso R. Jackson, the Housing secretary of the Bush Administration, has tendered his resignation. Even as Treasury Secretary Henry Paulson announced Bush Administration proposals to overhaul Wall Street regulations, the HUD chief was resigning. The New York Times reports on the problems faced by Jackson in recent months:
Mr. Jackson, 62, has been under investigation by the Justice Department and the housing department’s inspector general in inquiries focusing on whether he gave lucrative housing contracts to friends.
Do you think that this will affect the recovery of the housing market?

The housing market at the moment is dire and I think a political shake up is required.
