If you filed your tax return early, and if you indicated that you would like to receive your return by direct deposit, you might be seeing your tax rebate today. This is the first day that tax rebate deposits are coming, and the first checks are on their way.

This is ahead of schedule, probably due in large part to the fact that with oil prices skyrocketing and food prices inflation creating household budget strain, the "economic stimulus" has turned into more of a rescue.
