Spring is the time for renewal and has become the traditional time for cleaning your house; if you’re struggling to pay off payday loan lenders, it could be a time to get some extra income as well.
The best place to start is your closet. You’ll need to go through everything and organize it. Divide up your clothes into four sections: clothes you plant to keep, clothes you plan to sell, clothes you plan to donate, and clothes you need to throw away or turn into rags.
You’ll want to do the same thing with any shoes and hats in your closet. You’ll need to be brutally honest about how much you wear something or how likely it is you will be able to wear something in the near future. Keep in mind that the more you get rid of, the more you will be able to sell it for.
Once you have completed the closet, continue on and do the same things with the hall closet, the linen closet, the garage, and any storage spaces. Not only should you divide up the clothes into separate sections, you should do the same thing with coats, toys, tools, or any other types of junk in these areas.
If you’re not someone that enjoys doing a lot of cleaning and organizing, you’ll probably want to recruit someone to help you, preferably a spouse to help you decide what to sell and what to keep. Just remember that what may be junk to you could be treasure to someone else, which could mean cash for you.
Sell what you find when cleaning to pay off payday loan lenders
Once you have organized everything and put away the stuff you plan to keep, it’s time to make some money. The easiest way to make some quick money may be having a yard sale or rummage sale, however that most likely won’t maximize your profit potential, especially as far as clothes are concerned.
First you want to make any clothes as presentable as possible. Wash all clothes and hang them up on their own hangers. Iron any clothes that aren’t wrinkle-free. Clean toys with a disinfecting cleaner and polish up any tools, dinnerware or knickknacks.
You’re more likely to make more money for your clothes by selling them to a used clothes store or to a consignment clothes store, which doesn’t pay you for the clothes up front, but instead sells the clothes and gives you an agreed-upon percentage of what the store sells it for.
Before you try to sell your clothes, research local shops to determine what kind of clothes they tend to sell. This will help you determine where you will most likely be able to sell your clothes for the most money so you can pay off your payday loan that much sooner. For example, some stores specialize in vintage clothes with styles that are about 20 years old or more, while other stores specialize in used clothes in current styles for teenagers.
If you have designer clothes in excellent shape, you could probably sell them for more by selling them individually on Craigslist or eBay. You could do the same for toys, tool or jewelry. Take pictures of them so you can upload them on the website.
If you have a lot of small things that don’t have a lot of value, it may make more sense to have a yard sale or rummage sale. It may not bring in a lot of money, but hopefully it will be enough to pay off the payday loan lenders.
